2013

What communication devices could be used to mobilize and assist citizens in eco-friendly consumption? How users will appropriate these devices and thus will participate to public discussions? Based on these functionalist issues, which are the core of an action research that we ‘re leading, we propose a critic study of participatory injunction. This injunction deals with Internet imaginary and sustainable development precepts.

2014

This paper describes a research program within Information and Communication Sciences (ISC). This program is based on the understanding of online socialization processes. Particularely, it is focused on rationalization issues for communities forms and rules online. Since the end of the years 2000, this rationalization for online communities is also known as Community Management. We formulate the hypothesis that community management policies spread to whole human activities on the web 2.0, and that community management policies rule the new knowledge mediations.

Balancing on a tightrope: Managing the boundaries of a firm-sponsored OSS community and its impact on innovation and absorptive capacity

2014

Realizing the innovation potential of OSS communities, firms now create or sponsor their own open source software (OSS) communities, generally as part of an open innovation strategy. However, maximizing the innovation capability of a sponsored OSS community is a challenging task since firms cannot rely on traditional hierarchical authority to control community members. Furthermore, a firm's efforts to manage its sponsored community may also impact the firm's absorptive capacity, or its ability to effectively absorb and leverage the valuable knowledge created by the community. Thus, the purpose of this article is to investigate two research questions: 1) How does the boundary management of a…

Problématiser la démocratie environnementale

2015

Problematizing the environmental democracy: Can online eco-citizen participation rescue the institutional participation? The rise of the digital society came with a series of hopes picturing a liberating technology. At the same time, political institutions call for a better integration of citizens in the public affairs’ government. Knowing that this injunction to participation does not generate a massive mobilization, to what extent can online discussion platforms help to give new life to citizen participation? This issue will be brought up through an analysis of Community Management in a socio-technical perspective, as a part of our PhD Research Program.

La fracture numérique 2.0 au travail

2014

Towards a Framework to Support the Design of Esports Curricula in Higher Education

2021

Esports has generated an industry of increasing economic and cultural importance. In recent years, universities and other higher education institutions have responded to its growth by establishing undergraduate courses to satisfy the needs of innovators operating in the area. However, there is not yet consensus on what an esports curriculum should include. Despite being a technology-driven sector with ethical and professional dimensions that intersect computing, current ACM and IEEE curricula do not mention esports. Furthermore, existing courses tend to provide teaching and training on a wide variety of topics aside from those traditionally in computer science. These include: live events ma…

Thinking collaborative empowerment as a communication dispositive : the case of collaborative consumption’s online community services in a sustainabl…

2020

This thesis propounds an info-communicational approach of empowerment phenomenon in a market oriented context. In order to do so, we focus on discourses and communicational processes that refer to this very concept in “collaborative consumption” platforms’ framework. Massification of this type of services is accompanied by discourses emphasizing a socioecological “power” they would be carrying for consumers (as a more social and sustainable economy). We underline the gap between this utopia and the organizational reality of empowerment. First part of this thesis proposes to highlight this polysemic concept. The point is to problematize empowerment in tension between political communication …
